Who we are

holidaydealfinder.co.uk is run by Holiday Deal Finder. We are responsible for the personal data described here. You can reach us through our contact form.

What we collect and why

We collect as little as we can, and only to run and improve the site.

  • Contact form: your name, e-mail address and message, so we can reply. To stop spam we also keep a coded (not readable) version of your IP address.
  • Visitor statistics: we count visits to see which pages and searches are useful. This records things like the pages you view, your browser, device type, approximate location and IP address. Our statistics tool runs on our own hosting, does not use cookies and is not shared with anyone.
  • Clicks to travel companies: we count which offers are clicked, without cookies and without storing your IP address.
  • Server logs: like every website, our server keeps short-term technical logs to keep the site secure and fix problems.

We do this because we have a genuine need to reply to messages, keep the site safe and understand how it is used (in legal terms, our “legitimate interest”).

Our pages also load a script from Travelpayouts, our affiliate partner, which counts visits and sets a cookie. See our cookie policy.

How to opt out of statistics

Turn on “Do Not Track” in your browser and we will not count your visits. A content blocker also stops it.

How long we keep it

  • Contact messages: up to 12 months.
  • Click records: up to 400 days.
  • Visitor statistics and server logs: only as long as we need them.

Who else sees it

We do not sell your data. It is stored with our hosting provider in the European Union, which the UK recognises as protecting personal data properly. Travelpayouts receives what its own script collects.

When you click through to a travel company, you leave our site and their own privacy and cookie policies apply.

Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of your data, or ask us to correct or delete it. Just use our contact form and we will reply within a month. If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).

Changes

If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page.
