Benidorm has two long sandy beaches, Levante and Poniente, split by a rocky headland with the old town on top. Behind them is a skyline of high-rise hotels, so most rooms are a short walk from the sea.
There is plenty for every age: theme and water parks just outside town, shows and bars for the evenings, and quieter old-town streets with tapas bars. Altea and Guadalest are easy day trips.
Winters are mild, which makes it popular outside the summer as well. July and August are hot and busy; spring and autumn are calmer and often cheaper.
