Kuşadası is a harbour town with a long seafront, a marina and a small island fort joined to the shore by a causeway. Cruise ships call here, so the centre has plenty of shops, cafés and restaurants.
The ruins of Ephesus, one of the best-preserved ancient cities in the Mediterranean, are about 20 km away, and the Dilek Peninsula national park to the south has quieter beaches. Ladies Beach is the main beach close to town.
The beach season runs from May to October. Spring and autumn are good for sightseeing, when it is cooler at Ephesus.
